Cool pics of the week – artsy edition

I took these with the mediocre Nikon Coolpix P100 about a week ago, when the huge Golden Princess was sailing out of SF Bay.

Bathroom remodel time

I’ve been saving my pennies for a while now so I can finally get my late 70’s-style bathrooms remodeled.  First to go are the cabinets and countertops, with mirrors and lighting to follow. And then there’s the shower and tub, which is a whole other can of worms.

I was surprised by all of the junk that’s been collecting under my sinks. Who knew that I had so many bottles of Windex!

Here’s the “before” photo of the master bathroom sink area:

Done!!  Well, aside from the sink fiasco above.

Intuit: Master of Extortion

I knew this was coming based on recent usage of Quickbooks 2007… but here’s the letter I received from Intuit today:

This probably isn’t really extortion, but it sure feels like it. I now have to shell out $160 to buy a product I don’t want, so I can keep e-mailing invoices to advertisers.spesifikasi android

For what it’s worth, the reviews of QB2010 are lousy. Groan.

Mojave Desert attractions

Since we didn’t want to make the long drive to Death Valley two days in a row, today we did attractions about an hour to our south, in the heart of the Mojave Desert.

First up was a quick stop at the airplane retirement home in Mojave.  Pretty neat, would love to walk around all those planes!

After that we went to the Exotic Feline Breeding Compound’s Feline Conservation Center in Rosamond, CA. If you like wild cats, this is the place. From bobcats to leopards, they have them all.

Finally, we went to the Desert Tortoise Conservation Area. Unfortunately, it was too cold for any reptiles to be out (which thankfully includes snakes), so it was just desert. Still, it was a nice walk in a stark, but beautiful place.

Death Valley (Day 1)

Over the Easter holiday I’m down in southeastern California visiting Death Valley and the surrounding desert areas. My old college roommate and I are spending two days in DV and one in the Mojave Desert area.  Here are the photos from Day 1 in Death Valley:Watch movie online The Transporter Refueled (2015)
