  • The deed is done

Cingular is cancelled and I’m back with Verizon. The new phone doesn’t integrate as nicely with my car as the T637 did, and I can’t transfer things back and forth to my Powerbook, but at least I can make calls now.
Next step: sending back the old phone to Cingular. Thank God for 30 day money back guarantees!

Just a few weeks ago I raved about my cool new Bluetooth phone. Well, it’s going back to Cingular along with their crappy service. In the last two weeks I’ve had more dropped calls and network busy errors than I had in 2 years with Verizon. I can’t even take the major road to the freeway without the call dropping. What’ s the point of having a cool phone if you can’t complete a call?
So I’m going to go back to Verizon and hope that they get their act together and come out with a real phone with Bluetooth. They insist that the V710 will be updated soon with better Bluetooth features. We’ll see.

I recently settled with the insurance company of the truck who hit Marc and I back in 2003. My check finally arrived today, and they didn’t make it out properly… so now I have to deal with them again to fix it. Why can’t I seem to put this behind me?

When my friend Mark first showed me Katamari Damacy, I thought it was the dumbest game I’d ever seen. I bought it this week. And it’s a lot of fun… but the best part is the totally bizarre world shown in the cutscenes. The introduction alone is worth the price of admission, and shows why drugs and alcohol should never be mixed. You can watch it here.

In the course of eating dinner at my parents’ house tonight, the following happened:

  • My mom spilled a half-bottle of balsalmic vinagrette salad dressing on my jeans, socks, and shoes
  • My dad spilled a glass of water on my mom’s jeans
    I can’t find words to describe how … embarrassed … I am

Big thanks to my buddy Mark for giving me a preview of the Sony PSP today! This thing has an amazing widescreen display and can play games and music and can also show photos on a Memory Stick Duo card. Needless to say I’ll be contributing to Mark’s Christmas bonus this year, as this is a “must have” toy for me. Maybe it’ll make those long BART rides more tolerable.
Speaking of previews, this Friday I’ll be having a nice meal at Boulevard with Panasonic, where I’ll get to see their latest toys!

Here is Pete, the family cat, courtesy of my crappy cameraphone.
While I’m here at my folks’ place, I got to look at Saturn through my dad’s new telescope. Now THAT’S cool. It’s pretty small but you can easily make out the planet and the rings. Now if I could only find a way to attach my camera to it.
